Christmas in July at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital: Sponsor An Experience Make spirits bright for our extraordinary patients. Extraordinary kids need more than ordinary toys. Medical settings are a new, unfamiliar world for most children, and providing them with activities like art and music therapy, an alternative therapy that allows children to express feelings related to their hospitalization and relieves stress and anxiety. Movie or karaoke nights are activities that provide patients temporary escape from their hospital rooms and provide much needed peer interaction. Our treasure chests have a positive and often profound effect on the way children cope with hospital treatments. Following anxiety-provoking and often painful tests and procedures, children are able to pick out a special item from our treasure check in recognition of their bravery and strength.
